This has to be my fav song by Broadcast. It speaks to the wallflower in me. When I feel like dancing and letting go but my innate shyness stops me. Then, I begin to dance and feel free and this feeling of shame for dancing starts. Even though, I'm always looking for that "chance to let go." For me, in this song, Trish seems to be talking to someone or even herself who is a wallflower but comes from a good neighborhood. They feel shame for dancing but Trish reminds this Michael that hey, your father was a teddy boy. You have it in you to be "hip" and dance.
