Combing through the new album called "Dream Walker" by Angels and Airwaves, I stumbled upon this song. I first saw the lyric video instead of the official music video to understand the lyrics more. Stumped, I went upon the music video to see what the band did to interpret their lyrics.
As Youtuber xRadicalAurax pointed out, this song could be referring to the German fairy story in which a wolf lives with a fox. The wolf makes the fox do all of the work so that the wolf can mooch off all the food. One day, the fox devises a plan to rid himself of the wolf.
In the song itself, "The girl bites like a wolf," "I've been played, I ain't that clever," "a city boy that can never say never," all points to the German fairy tale. Coming off, xRadicalAurax's momentum, I could see this song is used hand in hand with the German story. Whether relationships, friends, addiction, whatever, I think you need to rid yourself of the "wolf" you have in your life.
BONUS! At 3:49 of the music video, the main character has a fox mask! (All credit due to YT comments)
@allnatural I saw that YouTube comment as well and thought it was a great interpretation of this song.

I'm pretty sure at some point in their lives, everyone has been used, taken advantage of, or fell victim to another's malicious intent. I agree, the key to moving on and restoring happiness is to accept the past and then rid yourself of the offender.

Great AvA song and one of the best on this album. I love the lyrics.
