To start, I'll just say art is always open to interpretation. This is not an official meaning or anything. And I don't claim to condone the message. This is just an admittedly biased evaluation of what's there.
That being said, this song is obviously about carrying out the planned kill of friend who raped another friend 'left for dead'.
Notice the imagery of thought (head/eyes) and action (hands).
"You have no idea how long I've planned this out in my head"
"I watched her world fall apart in your hands"
"I watch the life leave his eyes
Slaughtered the man I despised"
Moral of the story: This is how far human intention can go wrong. This song starts with a thought. But lack of self-control ended a friendship that could have been potentially restored. By the end, this,
"I've made this my life
It left me sleepless at night" [thoughts of murder]
became
"Did I stab him enough?"
And it's all over now.
I have had such anger at friends. I wanted to hurt the ones who hurt the helpless. But that's not my job nor would that help the situation and friendships.
My response to this song:
Matters don't belong in your hands.
Look at yourself.
But you can break the cycle of self,
And wash your hands.
