I heard this live a week ago. Mikel Jollett explained that it had a direct connection to their other song "Sometime Around Midnight" in that they are about the same woman, at least in a way. He explained that the woman referenced in "someone asks you if you ever think of her" is that woman, and that of course it's impossible for him not to, or at least to forget about her, as he has been singing "Sometime Around Midnight" nearly every night for the past seven years (they've toured that long, with short breaks. He also replaced two years on tour with seven). Based on (this is slightly more my interpretation) what he said, the song is also about her in that the woman helped start the band, or at least "Sometime Around Midnight" did, as it pushed him to leave home /get away.
