I think this song is about getting to the point in a relationship where you are ready to let go of it even though you know it will be very hard to do.

The songs called Siamese and she's using this as a reference to her and her significant other as being dependent on the one another--she feels that if they are separated one of them will die. This is illustrated in the verse:

His life and mine keep together like babies Siamese Like you've got me on a line 'Cause if you leave Or if I leave you I lose my life And lose you too

While before this prevented her from leaving and standing up for herself, now she has decided she will fight despite the consequences. You can see this in the previous verse

I keep my key Out my clothes between my fingers Don't look back Hit him right between the eyes She's going to confront him and fight him and she won't back down this time.

You also get the feeling that she's gotten in fights before but has been afraid to follow through (because of this fear of "dying") but this time she is not going to let that happen. What is great about this verse is that you get the feeling she feels as if she wields this great secret--he may think she will never leave and the fight is just another inconsequential argument because of their Siamese nature but she isn't afraid anymore and only she knows this fight is different.

Turn it in You're not sure what you're taking You're not prepared For what you're taking on And if it works like every night You'll turn away without a fight

I really love this Wye Oak song. It has this contained madness in it and I think it's because of it's conflicting nature. She's come to this really profound realization that she's going to leave someone even though it will most likely ruin her for some time. But it is such a freeing feeling to finally come to terms with that this song is her dark celebration.
