I think this is all about a man who always kisses and then runs. He always has one nights stands, and has meaningless sex with any fit girl. "Hold tight for heartbreak. Buckle up for loneliness. Right time to get away. Where I'm going I couldn't care." These lyrics suggest that he is telling the girl, after this, you will just be lonely and sad again, because there is no way i am staying with you. I am only in it for the sex. And that he always gets away at the perfect time, so no strings are attached. He doesn't care where he is going next. He only cares about himself. "I'm bored and I'm afraid. I'm falling like rain for you," in my opinion this implies that he is afraid, because he is starting to fall in love with one of his one night stands, which has never happened before. "Bad sex and ethanol," as the sex is meaningless and he never actually loves the person he is having sex with, it can sometimes be bad. And ethanol is alcohol, so this obviously means, that along side the sex, he also drinks away his problems.

Now the chorus is quite interesting, it could have many meanings, but to me there is only one that seems to fit perfectly..."Can anybody hear me? Is anybody out there? Not a soul in a streetlight. This might be love .This might be love." To me this means that he has fallen in love (this might be love) and doesn't know how to deal with it, so he asks for help. "Not a soul in a streetlight" means no one can help. they tell him to deal with it and stop running for love and enhance it!

"Calls that are Long overdue," always reminds me of phone sex. When he can't be bothered to have sex with another women, he just has phone sex, which always ends being way longer than he expects. "Cheap highs," might mean that all the fun from sex is always cheap yet always enjoyable.

I hope this helped, i am not sure whether my interpretation of this song is right, but it seems to fit-ish? Thank you for reading! :)
