The lyrics listed here are correct. This is a song from Kate Bush's unreleased demos, created when she was 15-18 years old. The song is a rumination by an angel sent to save someone's soul. The angel does not believe in his/her mission or maybe even the existence of God. It's a sad song that has a touch of anger: "Why should I whisper in the church? Because they say it's sacred ground? Oh, my sacrilege would do you good." The implication is that the angel is controlled by someone or something and is forced to go on his/her mission, and resents his/her situation. It's a beautiful song, a little treasure.
