It's the band replying to the fans they helped that they are also humans and you can't depend on music to save your life forever. You are the only one that can go after what you want and need.

"We all hurt, we all need, we all cry, we all bleed" - It's ABR saying that they are humans too, they have emotions and are not "Gods" or "Heroes".

"Stand here with me, together we'll get through this, stand here with me, and we'll wash it all away" and "Tell me your stories, I'll lend you my ears, tell me your horror, I'll make it disappear" - The band is saying that when possible they'll help anyone who is in need.

"If I could do more I promise you I would, but this is your time" - We made music to cheer you up, now it's time for you to go and give your best to face a situation.

"You can't hide your fear in this chorus forever" - If music is helping, nice! But now you have to create courage.

"Whisper your grief, scream your sorrow, proclaim your love, just don't call me your hero" - It's the summary of the whole song. ABR is saying "WE ARE NOT HEROES", we are happy that we can help you, but please don't make us gods or something like that, we are also humans.
