Nocturne Lyrics

Here's what I think. The song is being told through the eyes of an admirer who has finally started a conversation with his/her object of obsession, on a slow night, at a bar. Told in the lines: "You wanna know me? well what's to know. To amuse you when the night is slow." The part where he/she goes: "Do your eyelids ever close, caught spirits in your waking woes?" He/she always finds this person late nights drinking spirits after a long day, maybe? Again, the "I know where to find you, I know where you go", is stating that this person frequents this bar, and the admirer goes there to see said person. Now in the second stanza I feel like they might be back at his/her place. "And you're twisted, what can I say? your days are empty and my tongue's decayed" He/She is making the observation that this person is drunk but he/she accepts this, understanding that this person's days are not exactly productive. He/she is now staying up with this person in kind of an awkward silence. "And we stay up, just to tempt me, One more night of your company." Finally had the chance to get this object of admiration, but alas, it is thwarted by unfortunate circumstances. Just another night in this person's company. That's where I think the line: "You can have me, you can have me all," comes into play. I've taken the opportunity to profess feelings to someone who was way to drunk to remember the next day. I used that opportunity to say what I never had the courage to say when she was sober.
