I see this song as a take on human consciousness and honoring the soul. We all have expectations thrust upon us from society, parents, ect. Moby is telling us to 'let it go' and 'wake up' to what our soul is telling us. 'We're almost home' signifying that when we listen to what our soul is saying, we are truly enlightened and conscious. Once this happens on an individual level, it can be spread, and reaching this level throughout our entire species can be something Moby is getting at. Saying, with all that is happening currently, that there is an awakening happening. Wake up, society, because we are 'almost home'. Meaning, we are becoming an enlightened and conscious society, and we can reach that.
