I don't think the song is about love at all. If you listen to the song you can hear that the word 'love' is never said in the chorus. It's always left to fade out, only ever making the 'L' sound. I think they're saying "How the mighty fall in line", meaning how they have fallen into what is considered good music these days and left behind their old sound. There are a couple of lines up for interpretation but I think the following two represent this idea the best.
"Your crooked love is just a pyramid scheme
And I'm dizzy on dreams (and I'm dizzy on dreams)"
They've changed their sound to appease people, making their career a scheme all because they loved the fame and spotlight. Hence dizzy on dreams.
"It's getting clear
You're never coming clean
Lock you up inside, and swallow, swallow the key"
They won't admit to others and perhaps themselves that their music has changed for this reason. Instead they put on a masquerade and hid through truth. Swallowing the key.
This theory would mean ignoring Big Sean's part as he's pretty clearly singing about a girl. Fall Out Boy's parts never say 'she' though.
