At the time Isle of Man was the only place where homosexuality was illegal, and being Left Handed was a codeword for being queer, sinister, different. So yeah I always read this (as a gay man, coming out when this album was released) as being about his bisexuality, and homosexuality in general. It's a personal anthem of mine, like Standing In The Way of Control.
