Excellent arrangement for this song. When this album came out I had to listen to numerous times back-to-back. The arrangement of the songs lends itself to the overall theme of the "album" thus what was included and what was cut and the order of songs. "Hollow Man" made me think of T.S. Eliot's "The Hollow Men" as an allusion, and it seems to be there in the tone of the music - read the poem while listening to the music, it works - and in the lyrics, "He's just a hunter for the devil" = death, the existence of the soul - hollow = empty, waiting to be filled, or worse yet emptied..."gun in hand" = tool for destruction, should someone who is empty or waiting to be stuffed be pointing the way for us? Hhhmm... politicians, leaders, the voices we listen to - we need to get away from them, we need to be free from those who lack conviction, to quote Eliot again, "The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity". Hollow, no substance, the path of least resistance is the devil's way, it is a path of destruction and anarchy. Yeah I gotta get away!
