One of my favorite Pretenders songs ever. The first two albums were perfect, but after after half the band died Chrissie and Martin just couldn't keep it up. Their songs stopped working for me after this album.
@b0rnbad I don’t disagree that the first 2 albums, with the bassist and guitarist of the original band, playing on them, are special and rocking and tight, but loose as well, and once those two guys died, that sound died with them. But...

...for your own sake, please listen to Learning To Crawl...it’s a pretty remarkable album, how she picks up the pieces and keeps moving, while mourning her band mates. But The entire album isn’t about that alone, and Chrissie shows she’s not dead yet, she’s still got a lot to say.

The Pretenders’/CH’s output may get spotty after LTC, but the album itself is a masterpiece, probably the equal of the first album (one of the greatest debuts ever), with the first album being “first amongst equals”. It really is that good. You’ve heard probably half the songs on the radio, at the very least, if you’ve not ever listened to LTC all the way through...but you should listen!
