To me, I think the song's meaning is about the government. The song does began with "you're all slaves" and it has "watching the same mistakes we all went through" The government is always getting what they want and we don't. So technically, we're all slaves. That's what I think at least...
@DeathcoreGirl5 The repeated use of the term "substance", and lines such as "hit rock bottom" are all direct inferences to drug abuse though. I know it is up to an individual to interpret it how they will, but the obvious context is drug abuse (using cliched lines in regards to drug addiction I think was even the bands intent to ensure it wasn't interpreted any other way).
