Holy mother of God. The fact there was 0 comments here doesn't surprise me. It is a testament to the utter innocence and simplicity of the song. The words are not childish, but child-LIKE. Absolutely enjoying the simple beauty of life. You can be literal and say it's from the perspective of a bird with the nest building. It's our job as humans to extrapolate that over our own existence. Build a home, build your life, out of string and grass, out of the simple things in life. Things like enjoying nature, laughing with friends, and skipping stones ;) The final verse is acknowledging that we all fuck up. We all get it wrong, and often. But those moments where we get it right. Oh, do we get it right. We don't even realize we're getting something right because we are so in the moment enjoying the beauty of life with each other. And those moments we get it right is what we build our lived out of. We build our homes from string and grass, from laughs and love. I just want this song played on every speaker in the world and to hold the nearest person next to me. Every human being in one great world-wide hug where we all come together. K now I'm getting romantic. God thank you Feist for sharing this beautiful moment every human strives for. Peace everyone.

@karmaisdharma I absolutely love this song. The small things in our lives build the whole thing. Sometimes it goes right, sometimes wrong. I was just wondering, is it as a demand: get it right! ???? If you get it wrong then make it right. ??? (English is not my language)
