Every time I hear this song it reminds me of my first romance. It was a long distance relationship that lasted over the course of 5 years. We would rarely ever meet, due to expenses and the difficulties of her family accepting me as a Hispanic man. Every time I made my way to New York her family would go into a rage and we were both always caught in the middle of it.
I remember leaving one night when it got really awful.
I sat at the edge of my bed in my hotel room thinking if this was something worth putting her through. Just then she came in the room, wearing a long black coat.
