I think it's pretty obvious, but the song is about someone who gets rich and famous doing what he's doing, what he always apparently wanted, but misses someone he used to love. He probably dumped her back in the day and was mad at her and said he never wanted to be with her again, but now that he's where he's at, nobody truly seems to like him anymore. He now misses her, he feels like he can't get her (or anyone else) to love her ever again, and ultimately, that is the worst feeling to him, worse than not being famous in the first place.
