This is my favorite song on this album. Trent is so fucking awesome. To me this song has nothing to do with drugs and that's just for tools. "Hallucinate in high fidelity The pieces of a plan Construction of the highest quality The blood from my own hand"

/\ This is describing his creative process\/

"A line of lyric looping in my head The body listening

"It doesn't really matter anymore Yes it doesn't mean a thing" <This is how he feels sometimes or has felt strongly in the past

"I've gotta let go I've gotta get straight Why'd you have to make it so hard? Let me get away" He knows what he has to do, but that doesn't make it any easier. He knows he fucked up in the past, and forgot his mission.

"An effigy so wondrous to behold Statements so profound A place to bury everything I did And burn it to the ground" <Now he is realizing the importance of his work, how he took his duty or responsibility for granted.

"A fire illuminates the final scene The past repeats itself I cannot tell the difference anymore I cannot trust myself" <Now he remembers his mission, but it's different now. He's the same guy, but an adult now.

"I think I could lose myself in here" < He really just loves doing what he does, making music

Thanks :)

You cant edit or delete so here is what I meant.

"It doesn't really matter anymore Yes it doesn't mean a thing" < This is how he feels sometimes.

"An effigy so wondrous to behold Statements so profound A place to bury everything I did And burn it to the ground" "A fire illuminates the final scene The past repeats itself I cannot tell the difference anymore I cannot trust myself" < < Now he remembers his mission, but now it is with a sense of responsibility and duty, because he screwed up in the past....

I think he is more talking about losing himself in his music, and he uses drug metaphors to make that comparison. So agreee with you.

@randylic go get addicted to heroin for about a year then give it another listen.

And as for it "being for tools", despite what your opinion may be, it CAN happen to anybody... especially considering when 80% of users these days get started off prescription drugs given after surgery, an accident, or some other reason that doctors hand out opiates like Halloween candy.
