I heard this song for the first time a few days ago and I found it to be very dark but in some ways beautiful lol. But, I've been trying to figure out the meaning of the song too. And this is just my personal opinion: I think the song could be about a woman who was abused and in some ways neglected by someone she was in love with in the past. But, the man she was with was either an addict of some kind, or he was possibly schizophrenic. And she eventually escaped from him and moved on. He of course, had a lot of regrets, especially when it came to how he treated her that he wished he could make things right with her again along with all the other regrets from his past he could never let go of, and his misery and stress lead him to his addiction/ strong dissociation from himself. And if he didn't let go then it would in the end destroy him. And karma was taking it's toll on him in so many ways. And it all gets to the point to where he just "Calls out to her" (Calling her) cause' he became that overwhelmed and felt like no one else could help. I also think that the "Black eyes" are supposed to be like a metaphor for the woman's perspective of her lover either having a dark soul or being mysterious or hard to read or being dissociated. Then the "You won't sleep when the shadow moves over you" could either be karma/death/rebirth or the woman eventually giving in and having rough sex with him. I know this may be very different from all the other meanings on here, but that's just my opinion so far lol. But, all the other ones are good as well.
