When I listen to this song, it sounds like she is talking to atheists or non-believers.
What brings me to this conclusion are the lines,

It sounds like she is questioning an atheist on his beliefs (or a lack there of), why he just assumes there is nothing because that is what others believe and finally she tells him that there is only one thing to fill the void inside of him, God.
"It's just a breathe away" seems to translate in one's asking for forgiveness of one's sins.
