This song reminds me of this guy who broke my heart. We had an attraction towards each other and were very much in puppy love, but then things suddenly changed when I discovered another side to him. A side where he would run away from problems and not want to fix them. When it came down to the two of us he would run away because he would't want to face his actions. He would make me feel weak and defeated because he would put on this front of being happy and fine(which seemed inhumane and abnormal to me), which was totally opposite from me because I was so unhappy and sad. He comes back every once in a while because he cares and each time he does it's like I have to put up a shield to protect myself from not melting back into him. I know that I can not change him because those are just his ways and it's not my responsibility too either. Listening to this song just reminds me of the bad he's done and to feel more empowered rather then weak.
