For me, it's about someone who is in love with another one, who isn't in love with the first person. As you can hear, the music just flows to the climax, which is the verse: "I saw the light shine out today, And it told me that you're not the one for me". In the end of the music, we can even hear a hint that this verse would be played again, but the music suddenly stops. That happens because that was the point of this music, it was made just to send this message, one time, as it hurts too much to say it more than once.
"Can you see it's full of lightning,
All the futures that I see are whitening,
See the time of yesterday,
Become the time that we have today,"
-I'm not sure, but it seems that he/she is full of energy (lightining), and see all the paths that his life can take. I would risk and say that he/she was in a relationship and now he/she is free and full of energy and hope for the future. He/she wants to compensate the lost time of the relationship, as the time he/she had yesterday became the time that they have today.
"Oh I'm looking for a hidden meaning,
Can you tell me if it's just a feeling,
See the light is shining in your eye's,
Is it love in disguise,"
-It's almost as the person is beginning to see that the other one - which could be a friend or just a random person - is falling for him/her.
"Can you hear the ancient calling,
See the empires we've built are falling,
All we have is the human touch,
The clock is ticking even as we rush,"
-their relationship is ending, their empire is falling, as all they have now is the human touch, and as the clock is ticking, they get more apart.
