I would have to say this was about either depression or drug withdrawal, but most likely a combination of both. Bradley was someone who most likely suffered from bipolar disorder. He was up, he was down, and he self-medicated with every drug under the sun. It was Brad's own way of dealing with his depression. It's also possible that his heroin use caused such severe depression once it wore off that he didn't want to get out of bed the next day. I wouldn't know, because I've never used it.

I've never quite heard anything like it, except in the original version of this instrumental, which is called Fighting Blindly, which was Sublime's first real song from what I understand, and is worth a listen, especially the live version, where he says at the beginning, "This is about the drunkest I've ever been."
