Cover art for Nightcall lyrics by London Grammar

I think Nightcall can be interpreted as a breakup song. But I like to think of it as a completely different issue. It’s perhaps the most tortured feeling. It’s about two people who are in love but can’t be together. I think it’s perhaps a guy and a girl who are friends, but she’s going out with his best friend. Or brother. Or something. Neither of them want to hurt that person but inevitably they will because they both know they’re made for each other. Metal and Dust follows on from this: when the decision is made, it could be the death of all three relationships. The love and lust involved in all three will disappear.

@Lewjay1993 I find this a good idea as this is a cover from Kalvinsky which is featured in Drive - where the protagonist and lead female have a similar relationship to which you describe and it ultimately ends it travesty.
