First off, Mac is the lyricist, and generally the song writer in general; however, he gives credit to all his band mates for their musical contributions in creating their parts. I'm glad people are rediscovering this band. To me, they WERE the 90's (and beyond). Anyway, I really feel like you guys have had some really good thoughts as to what this song is about. When he says "I had a crush but nothing works out," it just rips me apart. One of these days, when I see them in concert again, I'll ask Mac what album track 6 and 7 are from.
@joe1133247 I would love to know as well, although a part of me is happy with it being track 6 & 7 from Here's Where the Strings Come in, "Detroit Has a Skyline" and "Eastern Terminal," which along with track 8, "Animated Airplanes Over Germany" will always and forever be my favorite in-flight soundtrack.
