I somewhat agree with Tyrotoxin, although, the part about the avoidant personality disorder, doesn't make much sense in the context of this song.
I actually believe that, apart from depression, she finds infinite comfort in herself. I don't consider her dreams to be literally dreams, but rather wishes, longings, the things she wants in life, a spark that lights her wick. That's why I've always thought about this song as a self-empowerment epic, and it has such a tone in my opinion. I think it's closely connected to the 'I Walk Alone' theme she has on her albums.
