I've always gotten this feeling that's both fear and hope when I listened to this song. And wow, I feel like maybe I'm way off because everybody got the same gist from the song but I had this whole different idea in my head.
For me, it is the both of them that, maybe, fears, heading into this relationship, or further into anything at all. Because she talks about her fear of reaction and her absence. But it's true that I feel like maybe it's not so much of a fear for him, whoever she's singing about, but more like an uncertainty, and maybe he takes it far less seriously than she does. But I think that's just boys.
And yet, they are still going through it day by day and they're growing together, because while she's anxious about things, what's another day?
And why be ordinary, because it just grows stale, I think that's what that line about concrete-coloured buildings mean, and I think it's him talking about the relationship. Like they should be great, could be great, but they'll have to see. And I think the biggest difference of my interpretation from the rest is that there is that mutual agreement. They both think, well, yes, what's another day.
