I read an interview with Alex and Jack they talked about this song. They both said (in one way or another) that the song was them finding out that it was there music and they could make it how ever they wanted. Basically it's about them realizing they don't have to please anyone and they can say what the want. The line "LET ME GO DOWN ALONE" (I think) refers to them writing songs/lyrics that could be considered controversial and they'll take the fall for it, they want the credit. Good or bad.
