Obviously about how hard the past year or so has been. Funeral after funeral. Death seems to be a reoccurring theme.
"If this year continues how its been, you're likely to never see my face again" I believe is referring to his own death.
Then towards the end i think it can be interpreted in a mainly 2 ways:
1: He is afraid to sleep because he thinks his own death is near and might not wake up.
He is pleading to find a way to sleep sound. Great song which I believe to be directly connected to "Resuscitation of the Year"
