To me, she's saying "Why did you not care enough to correct me?" Like, some parents never correct their kids, and it's not so bad while they're still kids, but when the kids grow up and no one's ever corrected them, the 'kid' (or, older person now) is screwed up. They have no idea what to do with themselves because no one has ever said to them "No, this isn't right.. you're supposed to do this, not that". It's almost as if she's looking back and seeing that her parents just let her fall into a self-destructive pattern and didn't really try to pull her out of it. Maybe she's trying to fix herself and realizing why she's so messed up as an older person?
