“I’m falling down, And fifteen thousand people scream, They were all begging for your dream, I’m falling down, Five thousand houses burning down, No-one is gonna save this town” This part of the song basically tries to depict that his world is falling apart, its falling apart because he does not have the person he loves (this comes later in the song), he only mentions 5,000 houses burning down, but someone’s world is basically where you are… what I mean is that if you where in a place where 5,000 houses were burning down and 15,000 people were screaming even though that is a tiny part of the earth for you it would be like your whole world is falling apart. In the second verse he says, “They were all begging for your dream” the way I understand this is that they is everyone he knew, and they all supported whatever the girl he speaks of wanted, which in turn was pulling her away from him.

“Too late, I already found what I was looking for, You know it wasn’t here, No it wasn’t here” Here he is saying he has found some one who is the type of person he wanted, the one he was looking for, and he mentions how it wasn’t here. By here I'm guessing he refers to wherever him and the girl lived.

“I was calling your name, But you would never hear me sing, You wouldn’t let me begin, So I’m crawling away, 'Cause you broke my heart in two, No, I will not forget you” This part is pretty straightforward. He is saying how he gave signs to the girl that he loved her, how he made it clear and how she never listened to him, never payed attention to him… never heard him sing. He saws how he is crawling away from her which means he is slowly trying to forget her, to leave her far behind and move on with his life. He mentions how she broke his hear, and then he says he will never forget her, which could mean that no matter how much he crawls away from her, he will never stop loving her.

“Too late, I already found what I was looking for, You know it wasn’t you, No, it wasn’t you, Noooooo.” This is pretty much the same as the second stanza (second paragraph on this paper), except now he says it directly to the girl, he says it directly to her that he has already found someone worthy of taking her place and mentions directly to the girl that it wasn’t her who she found. Notice in the recording he sings this very passionately, with pain almost… I think he is still hurting from her reject even though she found someone already.

“Falling away, You would never see me through, No, I could not forget you, Falling down, Five thousand house burning down, No-one is gonna save this town” Here he says again how he is falling away, how he is hurting and how the girl never payed attention to him and still to this day hasn’t. He feels love mixed with melancholy and pain that he can’t have the girl he loves. He says again how his world is coming apart from the first stanza.

“Too late, I already found what I was looking for, You know it wasn’t you, No, it wasn’t you, No.” This part is the exact same as the fourth stanza, he speaks directly to the girl. I just wanted to note how here in the recording he sings/screams the lyrics in agony, he sounds like he is still hurting from this girl’s rejection. I know he also does it in the fourth stanza, but here he sounds more passionate about it, with more agony, like he can’t hold it anymore.

“Falling down, Now the world is upside down, I’m heading straight for the clouds” In the end he finished the song in a sad tone, he expresses that his world is upside down. This makes perfect sense since he has found another girl who he loves because well its what he was looking for, yet he cannot get over this girl, the one he has always truly loved. My guess is that the last verse (I’m heading straight for the clouds) could be that he will die without her ever knowing of his love for her.

Overall this song has many emotions, it’s bleak, and it speaks of his heart being broken, it speaks of finding new true love, but also not getting over past loves. It is a very powerful song. This song could be talking about the same girl that he talks about in Muse's other song "Endlessly".
