you will find a way! "The fire outside It's burning up place But you're inside Burning up ahead" Outside in the physical world there is what has to be solved but you burn up inside cause you think all of it through and fight with yourself about it, thinking all possible situations and results and waste energy to solve the actual challenge! "Paper trails on a mountain And fruits on a table A wooden house to live in A baby to care" And in the end he refers to the protagonist himself and life. Life can always confront you with things to solve where you might get lost in the beginning and there will be always any kind of fruits, sour, bitter, sweet or some mixture of it, you need to handle it and your mind and spirit lives in the wooden house which is your body, the baby to care inside this house, is the child in yourself or simply yourself. No matter how old we might be in this travel through space, we are just some dots in the whole concept, children of mother earth which herself is a poop of dust of the sun which herself is just a mote of the whole in our universe...">
This is a very personal view. When I heard this song the first time, I totally saw myself in it how I feel or how my life sometimes looks like.
First I don't think the lyrics involve other persons then the protagonist himself.
"Better go back Rhythm inside Better go back Here inside"
I think this refers to bring himself to a safe place, where you find some kind of peace you need to make difficult decisions in life or if life itself confronts you with a complicated situation to solve but you don't know how to handle it, so you try to go back where you feel safe. Either in real space or in the first place in a quite place in your mind.
"I told you I would get you The back of the hand I told you I would find A place to go"
Who has not soliloquies between the emotional and rational part in himself? Depending on the situation life confronts a person one of those parts dominates, sometimes one takes control of the other, for instance like you have to make a rational decision about something but the emotional part fears to lose something as a consequence of the rational decision but you still know that the rational decision makes more sense and is actually better, but you fight with yourself.
"Paper trails on a mountain And fruits on a table A wooden house to live in A baby to care"
The trails are the challenges to solve or the obstacles to master or the way to find the solution for those opportunities for new experiences but in the beginning we don't know how since it is a new situation to deal with. The fruits might refer to the result, fruits can be sweet or sour or in some way both, life does not offer only sweet things all the time... The wooden house is the human body, there were the conciseness "lives" in and the baby to care is the protagonist himself which explores the world of new possibilities and finds the way to solve them.
"The grass green but the The sun is blue Better find a way To get through to you"
This is a though part, but I think it is an abstraction for my previous interpretations, if you find yourself in a new situation, in the background you have your experiences you can relay on, which is the green grass, but the way ahead of you is represented by the blue sun, which is something that belongs to our reality and lives but is the challenge to be solved and appears strangely different in the beginning. To find a way in the most cases is the simplest thing, to find a balance between your two parts, the rational and emotional, so you find a way to yourself if you are in peace and balance with yourself, you find a compromise to a difficult decision where both parts are satisfied without fighting yourself anymore.
"Where are you when I need you? Where did you go? How can I find you when I need to? Where should I go?"
Still I think this refers to the conflict in decision making... Where is the part in yourself that will lead to the right conclusion? Where is the leading idea? Where is the hand to take us and assist us?? Where is some kind of god that leads our way?? All of them you can find in yourself!
"Paper trail on a mountain And far away A big trail on a mountain You'll find a way"
No matter how complicated, how difficult, how tough and energy draining life might be, you don't give up and surrender -> you will find a way!
"The fire outside It's burning up place But you're inside Burning up ahead"
Outside in the physical world there is what has to be solved but you burn up inside cause you think all of it through and fight with yourself about it, thinking all possible situations and results and waste energy to solve the actual challenge!
