I relate to this song, like most NIN songs, so I figured I'd post my thoughts.
I was raised catholic. I turned myself away from religion in my teenage years. Teen angst, experimentation, pleasures.. All seemingly routes of "escape" from the idea of myself "under god", maybe. Attempts to find a better or more genuine frame of mind, and find out the truth through experience. Sinning and ignorance, wih unmentioned pure intentions. Eventually though after everything I began praying to god. It feels right. Now that it is by my own will, to my own creation or interpretation. My belief that all of this is far too perfect to be what it may seem to be sometimes. Anyways, instead of going on about my relgion. This song is very familiar, it sounds like my prayers.
This seems like a sincere prayer to god.
This song adds dimension to Trents creation that is NIN.
