Completely agree that this is a song about fame, celebrity, and the media. The frustrations, the challenges, and the rewards. The love story between celebrity and media. I completely disagree that JT's part has anything to do with a woman or a relationship. JT is singing to the media/paparazzi and referring to the passionate love affair (if you will) between celebrity and media. I hate you, I need you, you're trying to ruin me, I love you.
Part of the reason celebrities do what they do is the fame, the attention. And the media feeds that desire, that need. But they can just as quickly try to ruin you. And even when they do, you love it. Because it's still that attention you want.
Plus, it goes both ways. They feed off of each other. "It's amazing I'm in this maze with you"...
