Out of Touch Lyrics

This is one of my favorite all time songs. . .and guess what. . .BINGO! It's about Star Wars! Empire Strikes Back to be specific. It's undeniable. Let's begin: "shake it up is all that we know," is Han Solo talking to Princess Leia about them fighting all the time, "using up the bodies as we go," refers to how exhausting that tension is for them. "Broken ice still melts in the sun" is obviously a line about Han and Leia beginning a relationship on the ice planet of Hoth. "Times that are broken. . ." this is talking about their experience on Cloud City of Bespin when Han is being tortured by Vader and prepared for carbonite freezing. The chorus is actually about this as well. "You're out of touch," at first glance appears to be about being out of touch with reality or some crazy damn thing, but in fact it points to the fact that when Han is being lowered into the freezing chamber, he can't touch Leia--a very emotionally painful prospect. And, he's "out of time?" Hall and Oates couldn't have made it more obvious, folks! "Looking for love where the climate is cold" has double meaning as Han and Leia work through their sexual tension on Hoth (a cold planet) and Leia would rather kiss a Wookie (her cold heart). "Manic moves and drowsy dreams" is clearly talking about Han navigating through the asteroid field then coming to rest on one of the bigger ones. "Smoking guns hot to the touch" is a direct reference to Han trying to blast Vader at Cloud City. "Too much" I agree! Hall and Oates have clearly written an epic tune about an epic movie!

My Interpretation

This is epic!

I love that

The idea is creative and hilarious but I doubt it\'s true.
