In my interpretation (with the music video's influence, too) I get the idea that she is in a relationship where she gets bored or is a more of a trophy wife (maybe for a very highly respected figure because in v1 she talks about how the other person could view her as a fantasy), etc. and she ends up seeking out the company of another person. She falls in love with this other person to the point where she can't be without them. She then breaks off her old relationship to be with this new person.
