This is just what comes to my mind when I listen to this song :)
It sounds like a guy falls for a girl but thinks she doesn't care/is unfaithful ("When I'm asleep and in a dream that I'm your only one.") so he tries to make her jealous ("I have a million different girls that hide under my bed. And when I let them out they treat me right.") but she actually cares about him and freaks out and tries to kill herself or something ("Oh, what a waste of a perfectly good, clean wrist. You were screaming till the police came."). Now the guy feels guilty and starts thinking about life ("If every living thing dies alone, What am I doing here?")
I feel like the whole "story" is how they wanted something beautiful but destroyed it.
