This song is more about government and the music industry in general than it is about any genre of music in particular.
It's about selling your soul to the beast then getting tossed away for the next big thing that sells. (commercial)
Deceiving the weak [minded?] (I pull weak from Leprosy because it corrodes muscle strength)
Oppression and fascism, freedom revoked
Vanity (flaunting their diamonds and riches to cover up their faults)
