"follow the beacon our lady liberty stands for none
it’s a vicious world eating her own in the name of love"
People justify the war on terror, surveillance, the erosion of our rights and negative effects on citizens by saying it's for our protection.
"jfk rolling in his grave
rise of the swine sign of the dove"
JFK wouldn't approve of the US now, and you can tell that we're at a time of peace when the vile people of society are allowed to attain power.
"money talks what you got
what’s your worth
can you buy another day of this hell on earth"
People are treated like a commodity, and you have to fight to survive another day. When you do survive, you fight more because that's the system we live in.
"can't keep a good man down
fuckin’ cliché when luck runs out
head-first bound like a slave
mouthful of dirt
food for the worms"
People are only "good" when they're down on their luck. Until then, they're a predator like everyone else. The last three lines give imagery of someone hogtied being thrown down like an object, about to be executed (food for the worms)
Everything else is a metaphor for war, senseless violence and mob mentality.
A few lines I really love in this song:
