Has anyone considered that this song may also be referring to a man lying to a woman about her not being a one night stand just so that he can get what he needs from her..? For example:
"Are you taking me back tonight?
Tell me if that’s alright
I don’t wanna be here
I’m not the sofa type
Tell me if you have a toothbrush
You don’t mind sharing"
This could be referring to the fact that he may have been homeless or a runaway (Much like Sheeran himself) and just needs a place to stay, warmth, a clean toothbrush, and she may be his way of getting that. Even if it means lying to her by saying that she's more than a one night stand.

@TiffanyRea That’s exactly what it is. It’s manipulative, but whether someone likes it or not, it’s a survival tactic.
