I think this song is about the feeling of unconsciousness and powerlessness.

In the first verse, the narrator is looking in the mirror, sees himself and notices that he "can't get up" - he is falling and so he is "out of control". But despite that fact, his reflection looks good, so he asks it whether he could show him a place where he feels the same way as he looks.

In the second verse, the narrator again speaks about that he is out of control of his actions ("where am I heading?!") and he wishes a place to stay and feel save (= haven). Then he asks himself for what he is punished like this and asks how he can escape this helplessness.

In the third verse, the narrator feels that he is a slave to his "nature" and his action just follow his instincts and he waits for them to lead him again.

Then in the chorus the narrator again talks about not knowing what happens to him and it happens to him and that his only thoughts are staying alive - but he is not really "living" a human life and thus "living a lie"

In the last verse the narrator tells us that time is also against him and is making him feel he's always too late for everything in life. The narrator cannot break out of his state of powerlessness - he is inferior to his "natural" instincts and to the limitlessness of time and eventually to his mortality.
