THIS SONG MAKES ME HYPERVENTILATE Also it provided me with the BEST moment of my life; when, during their smaller tour (Mine was on May 31, 2013), they played this song and during the "Oh no/We won't go/We don't know when to quit no" verse, they all stood up (well they all were besides Andy but he stood up) and Andy raised his drumsticks and they were chanting "We don't know when to quit, no" and that's when my heart BURST Anyways to me this song is clearly about their hiatus and journey back.
I mean, when they were creating this album, it was all very secretive and nobody knew. They didn't know if anyone would care about them anymore or like the material they were producing, but they pushed forth anyways. (THANK THE LORD) Like: "I cried tears you'll never see So fuck you You can go cry me an ocean and leave me be" That's them being like "will anyone care?" and then being like "this is for us."

"You are what you love, not who loves you" Phenomenal lyric, let me just say. It makes me want to chew crushed up bricks until my heart stops hurting...if that makes sense?? Anywhooo, this is representative of being true to yourself. You're what you make yourself, not what others want you to be.

"No no Wherever I go go Trouble seems to follow I only plugged in to save rock and roll" "Trouble" is the media/gossip, which they aren't aiming for. They don't want the fame, they want to produce music that they're proud of and that will inspire their fans (mission accomplished).

"We don't know when to quit no" I think this is pretty self-explanatory.

My Interpretation

I thoroughly agree with all of this, but also I thnk the song is also about their past. Fall Out Boy started out so authentic and passionate and they had such possibility, but despite all of that amazing talent, the industry morphed their art into something unrecognizable. They just wanted to make great rock music for this generation. Now, by being true to themselves and their art, they're back to doing that. I think every great band/artist probably goes through that period where they realize that they've lost something along the way. I'm really proud of them for this album....
