I think this song is kind of just about his life in general. It takes lots of different twists and turns throughout it, and if you listen to the middle section he sounds kind of rash and angry, which is a similar theme on some of his other songs. Then towards the end it's like he's looking for love when he says "waiting on a heartbeat etc. " I do agree with others when they say he talks about how messed up the human race is though.

In his operas, the stories he told weren't comedies or tragedies like the other stories of the time were, they were stories that highlighted the good and the bad in life, because no life is all good or all bad. I think AWOLNATION is saying that too, he has high points and low points as he goes along, and this song is all about how he deals with them.
