To me, this seems to be describing a dream of some sort. The Chorus describes how dreams can allow one to experience any reality, like a movie, and yet it it is never truly real--"We never touch" (in my dreams at least I can never remember actually touching anything, its more like I'm a floating camera outside of a body). Here are a few interpretations of specific lines:
"Wet and cold from shifting daydreams wakeful in the sleep"
The dreamer is cold and sweating as a result of what they see in their dream.
"Waiting for the noise to come to blur the weary mind"
The dreamer anticipates the noise that will blur away their dreams by waking
them up.
"In and out from foreign shores I've gone astray in time
Born to search for something I have never ever seen
On an endless quest to hostile ground and unknown lands"
The dreamer describes adventures they experience while dreaming.
"Then the scene go back to where it started and I fall
As shadows shift from red to gray I notice there's no floor
And gravity awakes me as it throws me to the ground"
The dreamer is woken up when they fall out of bed.
"A million tiny grains of dust obscures me from your eyes"
The dreamer can't see someone who was in their dream. The dust could either literally be due to dust thrown up from hitting the floor or refer to the cloudiness in the dreamer's head.
Brilliant song, whatever the meaning is. Very poetic lyrics.
