the interpretation i got about the song was that the line of "When God falls fast asleep,the kids still dance in city streets" means that the new generation of teenagers don't need a leader to succeed. he is trying to say that kids can create their own future but parents, teachers etc. are creating it for them.
"From the white house lawn to the middle east" would mean that kids could become such high figures such as presidency etc.
"And all around I'm just saying that this time I feel it now" would mean that he has high hopes for this coming generation and letting them have more freedom of choice
