When I hear the lyrics, I think of Peter Pan from Once Upon a Time, as he's a villain who makes a game out of his challenge with his adversaries ('life is just a game you play'), Neverland is 'His World' (probably, even though 'The Shadow' is the only main inhabitant), and is also a place which tests the character's from their past events alone ('gotta make your own way') and if you wanted to test Pan you'd have to bring your best as he is the most powerful character in all the realms ('If you want to test him best bring your best').
In addition to the main character's having to make their own way to Henry in Neverland, they have to pull themselves together, as time runs out for the team to save Henry and every single realm, and in doing so, face off with Pan and the Lost Boys (including The Shadow) ('Go on and get yourself together, there's no time to rest and if you put the time in, he'll put you to the test').
Pan also is known in almost all of the the realms as his group have spread out in some of the other realms trying to find the one person that can stop him from dying ('Intergalactic continental champ, running things'), and he believes he will not fail to get back what he needs ('Running it back again, well what'd ya expect? Coming out to win 10 out of 10, got a real rough neck').
Just because a song is made specifically to relate to a particular video game, doesn't mean it should JUST relate to it only, other characters from different shows and video games could relate to it in some ways, and this is what I found from 'His World'. Still is an awesome song ^^
