"Restless oblivion". the title itself says it all.
the person has lost his female lover (inamorata) or the love in his female companion is lost and he is trying to deal with the pain and emptiness that comes with that.
One last goodbye was the first song that i heard of Anathema. beautiful track indeed but this one...its like stuck in my head the moment i heard it for the first time. the song has one of the catchiest bass i have ever heard...from the intro to the end it never looses its charm. and the way the song progresses is quite amazing and u can feel the waves emotions rising and falling from your heart. after listening to the melodious and yet painful 'one last goodbye' the growl in this song takes it to the next level.
the grief is so overwhelming that the person feels like discouraged and broken even crying is not helping. he talks about immortality of life without love which is now condemned to misery . i guess oblivion here means the extinction...the departing of his love and its heartbreaking. this event was so devastating that he feels desecrated. his dreams and aspirations stamped out so bad that he feels defeated...vanquished. the respect that he had for himself and others dies with his love and its a bleak garden to cry
well dont go too deep into the lyrics try to enjoy the progression and transitions in the song its one my favourites from the band.
PS: tis my first writing about any song i hope i did the judgement with the song..if not at least i tried!!
