I know it's about how Scooter felt like he was going to die, but I reckon in my opinion it's about all about the bad things that haunt you and despite the hope and faith you hold on to, but when what haunts you the most and the hope you've held on to has been lost, you change into a darker person because you lost your belief in love and hope, and that leads you off the path to heaven.
