Bible Black Lyrics

I used to think it was about this guy who finds the satanic bible and goes crazy. But now, I think it's about drug abuse. The bible black being the drug and this poor soul becomes devoted to it. It's basically a song about drug issues disguised in religious lyrics. This religion fools this weak minded soul just like a drug does. Y'know what? Now that I'm thinking about it, it's about neither. It's just about obsession in general. Who knows, really. Dio wanted you to make up your own mind what it meant. So, I could be right, I'm most likely wrong, but we'll never know. It's not like we can ask Ronnie what the fuck he was talking about.

@tities I like your thinking here. For some back story, Ronnie and Geezer both dabbled in the occult and had very bad experiences with it. Geezer also was heavily into drugs, and had a very bad experience with that too. I wouldn't be surprised if their history helped with the lyrics. Someone is addicted to something: drugs, the occult, maybe both; and yeah it does wreak havoc on him. Reminds me of "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath. Geezer said it's a warning about the occult based on a real experience he had with Ozzy.
